I just compared the HD 280 Pro and the DT 770 Pro, and they are indeed both great headphones, but with a very different sound: The HD 280 Pro is very analytical, more focused on the mids with a lot of detail there. The DT 770 Pro sounds much more full-range, with more emphasis on the lows and highs. Both don't hide anything, but the HD 280 Pro does it in an in-your-face way, and the DT 770 Pro sounds much more fun and easy and also works great for casual listening. I like the ruggedness and repairability on both, but the comfort and sound profile of the DT 770 Pro wins me over for sure! Price difference in Germany is not that big: 90€ for the HD 280 Pro, 140€ for the DT 770 Pro. So I kept the Beyerdynamic.

Reason 12/13 are by far the worst for HIpHop/RnB Music. Getting a good bass sound is hard as hell. If your music is in this genre Reason will make sound muddy as hell. Out of the box MPC, then FL Studio blows most out of the water. The MPC presets alone will give a great sound even if your a beginner.

I’ve played around with audacity but it doesn’t support ASIO, is there a bypass for this or should i try a different DAW?

former Logic and S1 user here. Now back on Cubase 13 and very happy, I must say... Cubase has now all the features that has made S1 great (way more dragdrop!, bezier curves, event fx, lower zone, simple browser+ plugin pics etc.) But: Cubase has muuuch more to offer... Cant live without SamplerTrack and the BEST mix console, sample content is modern and very inspiring...Cubase stock plugins are today on par with Logic. C13 = highly recommend for HipHop. ❤

Hey bro, I've tried a bunch of DAWs, but lately Ableton's been winning me over. The workflow is just so smooth. I've got love for Studio One, but Ableton's sound quality seems better to me. I use FL for building beats and Ableton for recording vocals and mixing. I used to use ProTools for vocals, but Ableton's taken the lead there too

All daw doing well. The problem is skills.

I’m currently using a Presonus 24C and having major issues with it-mixer knob doesn’t work, can’t hear my vocals in headphones, SUPER low signal and shitty, distorted vox recordings without clipping on more than one mic. This looks like a great replacement! Any idea how it compares to Tascam? Was looking at their $499 interface and also a nicer mic

Hey Archie I previously bought an S1 few months ago and have yet to connect it and recently purchased the dock but I don’t even know how to hook it up. Do you need a special box gear or router to have em all connected to let’s say a m1 Mac with only 1 Ethernet connection which I’m using for my avid carbon so I’m stuck in what I need to finish hooking them up because I don’t have any extra port in computer. What would you suggest me ? Thanks bro

I appreciate your review. Thanks. I use all the daws you mention but unfortunately this is barely enough information for the beginner and you left out the heavy weight Film DAW used by many many Academy award winners - Cubase/Nuendo.

Started working in Pro Tools | First in 2018, stayed in Pro Tools ever since. I've partially used Reaper, Studio One, and Logic Pro and am always returning home to Pro Tools. I'm so into how fast Pro Tools works for me when producing music, especially guitar-driven music that it just makes a ton of sense on its workflow. I've considered using another DAW such as Logic Pro for Virtual Instrument-based music production, but I haven't delved into that setup just yet, I might in the future though. Great video and now, subscribed!
